DAVE DIX
Dave has been playing saxophone for around thirty five years and during that time has backed many British and American artists such as Carl Perkins, Johnny Preston,  Freddy Bell, Charlie Gracie, Johnny Paris, Big Al Downing, Linda Gail Lewis, Frankie Ford, Don Lang, John Leyton, Matchbox, the Jets and Bill Haley’s Comets, to name but a few.

Dave says one of the nicest guys he ever toured with was Big Jim Sullivan - who was on more top ten records then Elvis!!

Dave also toured with Screaming Lord Sutch for several years and has worked all over the UK and Europe with him and other great performers.

He has played at many of the UKs top venues including The London Palladium with Lonnie Donegan, Chas & Dave and the wonderful Joe Brown.

There are several great sax players that Dave admires such as Jim Horne, Sam Butera, Boots Randolph and Red Prysock but his main influences are Lee Allan and King Curtis.  The greatest praise Dave has ever received was from Big Al Downing who reckoned that he sounded like a cross between Curtis and Allan.

Dave has a very large collection of vintage saxophones and his favourite horn of the lot is a 1923 vintage Conn tenor that he uses as his main gigging horn and can be heard on the latest recordings from The C'mon Everybody Show.
